Integrated Amplifiers
Integrated amplifiers are those that contain all the circuitry required to turn the low-level signal into one that is large enough to power your loudspeakers and provide a room-filling sound. Normally, there will be controls on the front to switch between different music sources and to adjust the volume. Some have extra circuitry to allow the use of a record player and some will accept digital signals from computers and other digital audio sources. In this instance, the amplifier will have a digital to analogue converter, also know as a DAC, inside. This feature is intended to allow high quality replay from sources that only provide a digital output or those that are fitted with a lesser quality digital to analogue converter.
