Michell has rebuilt its most famous turntable from the ground up. Join us in the demonstration room for the first showing of the new Gyro at Audiovation, partnered with Michell's own Apollo phono stage and PMC Prophecy 9 loudspeakers.
Forty Years of the GyroDec. Then This.
The GyroDec has been in production in Borehamwood since the early 1980s, and it's one of the most recognisable record players ever made. The new Gyro looks like the original at a glance, but Michell says only three parts carry over: the motor, the belt and the on/off switch. Everything else is new.
We'll be running the Gyro into the Michell Apollo phono stage, the two-box design Michell built to partner its own decks, and out through PMC Prophecy 9 loudspeakers. Michell is distributed in the UK by PMC, so this is a pairing the two companies have voiced together, and one we've been enjoying in the demo room since the deck arrived.

What to expect
An unhurried demonstration in our dedicated listening room, with the Gyro and Apollo running as a system on PMC Prophecy 9 loudspeakers. Our team will be on hand throughout to talk through setup, cartridge matching, isolation, and upgrade paths, whether you're buying your first serious turntable or thinking about moving on from an older GyroDec.
We'll also have Michell's new Revolv on demonstration, the more compact deck that sits beneath the Gyro in the range, if you'd like to hear how the two compare. And if you own a GyroDec, Gyro SE or Orbe, bring the details along and we'll value it against the new Gyro on the day. Places in each session are limited so everyone gets a proper listen.
